Jasmine Harman has told how her husband suffered a heart attacked aged 45.

The A Place in the Sun presenter, 50, and her significant other were renovating their Spanish home for her spin-off TV series, Jasmine's Renovations In The Sun, when Jon, who is now 46, started to feel unwell.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We’d just had lunch and he said he started to feel funny and strange.

"He went to lie down but he then started to get very agitated and said there was a tightening in his chest. He was having a bit of trouble breathing and everything that was touching him was annoying him.

"I immediately called the ambulance as soon as he said he felt funny."

After being admitted to hospital in Spain, doctors revealed Jon had suffered "a mild heart attack", and medics are now carrying out "more investigations", especially given his family history.

Jon’s sister Jo tragically died in 2016, aged 40, from sudden arrhythmic death syndrome.

Jasmine - who has two children, Joy, 12 and Albion, nine, with Jon - admitted her husband is now "fine" and has returned to work following his medical ordeal.

She explained: "Jon is fine now and he is back working.

"I know this sounds strange but even with the background of what could have happened and worrying he could have died; it makes you feel lucky he just had a mild heart attack and everything is fine.

"But the challenges life throws at you has made me take things in my stride a lot better than I used to.

"You can’t control anything in life unfortunately, except your own responses to situations."

Jasmine met Jon while he was working as a cameraman on Channel 4 show A Place in the Sun, and the pair suffered a loss last year when her co-host Jonnie Irwin died in February 2024, aged 50, after battling cancer.

A couple of months later, Jasmine admitted it was "very hard" to talk about Jonnie.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror newspaper in April 2024 about achieving 20 years on the programme, she said: "I'm so proud to have been part of A Place in the Sun for 20 years.

"It has been life changing for so many people and to be able to help hundreds of couples.

"It has changed my life in so many ways too. I met my husband Jon on the programme, we've got two children now and I feel proud to be able to show people that anything is possible.

"But [reaching this landmark] has also been very bittersweet. I still find it very hard even talking about Jonnie. It's still very raw."
