Lorraine Kelly hopes to make more travel programmes
With Lorraine Kelly having more time on her hands in 2026 as the on-air time for her eponymous ITV show is slashed, the star hopes to front more travel shows, like she recently did for Channel 4.
Lorraine Kelly wants to make more travel programmes now that she is working less in 2026.
ITV has slashed the on-air time for her eponymous morning magazine show from an hour to 30 minutes, and it is only being broadcast on a 30-week "seasonal basis" due to the network's brutal budget cuts.
And after adoring her time in Norway to film her upcoming three-part travel series for Channel 4, the 65-year-old TV presenter is keen to document other countries.
Lorraine told the new issue of Woman magazine: "I've got my three-part travel series about Norway coming out on Channel 4 in the new year. I really loved making it.
"I've wanted to do travel programmes for ages, and I'd like to do more, so it's come at the right time. Next year, I won't be working as much on the show, as it will be 30 weeks rather than 48."
With more free time on her hands in 2026, Lorraine hopes she can babysit her and husband Steve Smith's 14-month-old granddaughter, Billie, more.
But it is her 31-year-old girl Rosie Smith's "joyful" Scottish wedding to Steve White, which takes place in July, that Lorraine is particularly looking forward to.
The TV presenter and her husband Steve Smith have been hitched for 33 years, and they still have the hots for each other.
Asked what the secret is to their long-and-happy marriage, Lorraine shared: "Steve [Smith] still makes me laugh! After all this time. He's infuriating, and I infuriate him, but we always end up laughing.
"We still fancy each other, too. On the very rare occasions I might wear something on the show that's a little lower cut, he'll send me a wee cheeky text!"
Lorraine recently described the cuts to her ITV show as "heartbreaking".
It was speculated that the 65-year-old TV host was set to leave her eponymous show after her one-year contract expired, but Lorraine has insisted she is not going anywhere.
The star told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I don't see me going anywhere until people get fed up, you know? Until people say, 'I've had enough of that one.'
"It's really heartbreaking to split up the team. A lot of them have been with me for more than 20 years, and they're my friends. I've grown up with them.
"They were babies when they started with me, and now they've got babies of their own."
Lorraine admitted she initially struggled to come to terms with the cuts to her programme - but the star feels happier about it now because many of her team have landed new jobs on different shows.
She explained: "It's been difficult with the cuts, it's been hard.
"I'm a lot happier about it now, but it was honestly and genuinely all about the team.
"I wasn't annoyed or angry about this for me. It was about the team."
