Lorraine Kelly is launching a new three-part travel series on Channel 4.

The 65-year-old presenter - whose eponymous morning show airs on ITV - has switched broadcasters for her next project, Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey, as she explores the fjords and discovers the stunning landscapes, wildlife, food and culture the country has to offer.

The programme - which has been produced by Captive Minds - will uncover "how the Viking era has left its imprint on the way of life and landscape of Norway", as well as parells with her home nation of Scotland.

In a press release, C4 teased: "Lorraine will meet people along her travels that are keeping the rich history of Norway alive through folk traditions and Nordic tales, and immerse herself in the crafts and culinary delicacies of the region.

"The TV icon will sail north along the coast to see what natural beauty it offers, spotting whales and eagles, in hopes to end her journey with a Northern Lights (aurora borealis) spectacle."

Channel 4 has promised a "beautiful and informative" travel series, which will be made up of three hour long episodes.

C4's Clemency Green said: “We’re excited to see what Lorraine and Captive Minds discover on their expedition across
