Alia Bhatt was "very surprised" to be cast in 'Heart Of Stone'.

The 30-year-old actress makes her Hollywood debut opposite Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan in the action film, and she thinks it was "fate" she's a part of the movie, though it was "quite shocking" to her at first.

She told DigitalSpy: "What attracted me to it? What not. For me, it was a blessing. When the opportunity came my way, it was actually quite shocking, I was very surprised. When I read the script, I loved the script, I loved my part.

"To me, the biggest character in the film is the film itself. If you enjoy the film, and the film is good, whatever you add to it will be good as well. There was no shadow of a doubt in my mind, this is something it was just fate, it was meant to be for me. I’m really glad it worked out this way.”

And Alia insisted there is no difference between making a movie in India or the US.

She said: “Filmmaking all over the world is the same thing, the only difference is the language."

Co-star Jamie hopes 'Heart of Stone' can have multiple sequels, following the likes of 'Mission: Impossible' and 'Fast and Furious'.

He said: "It would be great if they get to do more of this and make it a franchise.

"Where are they in 'Mission: Impossible'? Eleven or something? I lost count of how many there’s been. But if that happens with a woman at the forefront, that’s only a good thing.”
