Timothée Chalamet is set to receive a top honour at Palm Springs International Film Festival.
Timothée Chalamet is set to receive the Spotlight Actor of the Year Award at the upcoming Palm Springs International Film Festival, recognising his acclaimed performance in Marty Supreme.
The honour will be presented during the festival’s prestigious Film Awards ceremony on January 3 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The wider festival runs from January 2 to January 12, drawing filmmakers and stars from across the globe.
Festival Chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi praised Chalamet’s work in Marty Supreme, describing it as a career-defining achievement. He noted that Chalamet’s portrayal of Marty Mauser captures both the intensity of ambition and the vulnerability of human longing, calling it one of the year’s most memorable performances.

Chalamet’s role in Marty Supreme has already generated significant awards-season buzz, with critics highlighting the actor’s ability to balance raw emotion with nuanced storytelling. This year’s Palm Springs International Film Festival will also spotlight a host of other major names across film and television. Rose Byrne will be honoured with the Breakthrough Performance Award, while Michael B. Jordan and Kate Hudson are both set to receive Icon Awards. Leonardo DiCaprio and Amanda Seyfried will take home the Desert Palm Achievement Awards for Actor and Actress, respectively, with Ethan Hawke recognised for Career Achievement and Adam Sandler celebrated with the Chairman’s Award. The Visionary Award will go to Frankenstein director Guillermo del Toro alongside Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi and Mia Goth, while Hamnet filmmaker Chloé Zhao joins Jessie Buckley and Paul Mescal in receiving the Vanguard Award. Rounding out the international honours, Sentimental Value stars Renate Reinsve, Stellan Skarsgård, Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, and Elle Fanning will be presented with the International Star Award.
