Rich Paul drops huge 'my wife' bombshell about Adele as fans suspect couple secretly tied the knot
The sports agent has fueled fresh speculation about his relationship with the Grammy-winning singer after an unexpected remark during an online challenge, nearly two years after the couple publicly confirmed their engagement.
Rich Paul has reignited speculation that he has secretly married Adele after casually referring to the British superstar as "my wife" during a lighthearted video challenge.
The sports agent, 45, made the remark in a clip shared by Media Haus Co, where he attempted a timed word puzzle with presenter Rel Tait.
Paul and Adele, 38, began dating in 2021 and confirmed their engagement during her Munich concert residency in August 2024, but have not publicly announced a wedding.
During the challenge, Tait asked: "When was the last time you did a word search?"
Paul replied: "Man, it's been a while. But my wife do them every morning."
His choice of words has revived questions about the couple's marital status, particularly because Adele has previously referred to Paul as her husband during public appearances.
Neither has confirmed whether they have formally exchanged vows, and the latest comment offers no independent evidence that a ceremony has taken place.
Paul recently discussed their relationship during an appearance on Craig Melvin's Glass Half Full podcast, explaining that their romance developed through mutual friends.
He said: "It was really something that happened very organically, really."
The entrepreneur described repeatedly encountering Adele socially before their friendship became romantic.
He said: "We just used to always see each other, laugh and joke. It was just cordial, really, just cordial."
Paul joked that their interactions remained friendly "until it became not so cordial", eventually making him a romantic prospect for the Grammy-winning singer.
He also acknowledged that he had not been particularly familiar with Adele's extensive musical catalog before their relationship began.
Paul said: "Obviously, you know, I'm pretty on the pulse of a lot of different things, and so, you know, some of the songs, the big songs, but I didn't know all of the joints that I know now."
Adele publicly acknowledged their engagement during an August 2024 performance in Munich, responding to an audience member who jokingly proposed marriage.
She said: "I can't marry you because I'm already getting married so I can't, but I appreciate it. Thank you!"
The couple have also discussed potentially expanding their blended family, with both expressing enthusiasm about having another child.
Adele shares her son Angelo, 14, with former husband Simon Konecki, 52, while Paul has three children, Reonna, Richie and Zane, from previous relationships.
Speaking previously to E! News, Paul reflected on becoming a father while building his sports management business.
He said: "As a young dad, growing a business, it was pretty tough."
Paul added: "I'm looking forward to being a different dad, a more patient dad."
Adele has similarly spoken about her hopes of becoming a mother again, revealing that she keeps a list of potential baby names.
During a concert, she said: "I really want to be a mum again soon, so every time I see a name I like, I write it down in my phone."
She also mentioned Parker, Spencer and Ray among her preferred names.
