Giant prehistoric apes live in China

'Flash Gordon' star Brian Blessed has claimed he has seen evidence that proves the existence of Gigantopithecus beasts - enormous apes estimated to have lived around two million years ago - which he claims have been hunted by the Chinese military.

Blessed said: "This creature exists in China. About 10 years ago, the Chinese sent several hundred soldiers, explorers and scientists to remote areas of China because they kept getting reports of Gigantopithecus."
