The birth of Prince William

The day after giving birth to Prince William at St Mary's Hospital in London, Princess Diana and Prince Charles introduced their firstborn son to the world on 22 June 1982. This iconic appearance on the steps of the hospital's Lindo Wing helped establish a royal tradition that William and his wife, Catherine, would continue decades later with the births of their three children.
