The Mattel film features a star-studded ensemble, including America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Simu Liu and Will Ferrell.

While Barbie became a cultural phenomenon and box office success, a sequel is yet to be announced.

Warner Bros. has until to December to agree a sequel with director Greta Gerwig, Margot and Gosling before the rights defer back to Mattel, who manufacture and sell the Barbie toy line.
