Gene Hackman
The French Connection star, who passed away in 2025 at the age of 95, retired from acting after starring in the 2004 film Welcome to Mooseport.
Hackman walked away from acting for a quiet life in New Mexico after following the advice of his heart doctor.
Justifying his decision, the two-time Oscar winner said: "The business for me is very stressful. The compromises you have to make in films are just part of the beast, and it had gotten to a point where I just didn't feel like I wanted to do it anymore."
