Hugh Jackman was approached about replacing Pierce Brosnan was 007 when the actor left the role after four films in 2004.

After appearing in X-Men, the Hollywood star would later tell Variety how he was wary of being "typecast as an action hero".

He ended up shunning Bond in favour of Wolverine, and the rest is history.
