Bieber abruptly paused his global live performance schedule after being diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a rare condition caused by a viral infection. The disorder left the entire right side of his face completely paralysed, making him unable to blink, smile, or properly enunciate his lyrics. Realising he physically could not sing, he halted his tour to focus entirely on intense facial physical therapy.
