First WWF Championship

Hulk recalled making both his father and country proud when he beat the Iron Sheik to win his first WWF championship at Madison Square Garden in 1984 amidst the backdrop of the Iran Contra crisis.

Hogan said: "Because of the political landscape, we knew going in (that) this was going to be a big deal. I wasn't into politics in '84, but on the world stage, that was in the news. It was the perfect setup for me to go against the Iron Sheik."
