Michael was renowned for his extraordinary spending habits, with journalist Martin Bashir discovering that the Earth Song singer once spent $6 million during a day's shopping trip during the making of the 2003 TV documentary Living with Michael Jackson.

Bashir said of the late music icon: "In many ways he is charming. In others he is a disturbing individual whose financial power enables him to do what he wants when he wants."
