Paul has been married on three occasions.

The singer's first spouse was Peggy Harper, who he was married to between 1969 and 1975 and had son Harper with.

He was then wed to Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher - who played Princess Leia in the sci-fi franchise - from 1983 to 1984, although they would resume their relationship for several years following their divorce.

Simon then tied the knot with the musician Edie Brickell in 1992 and they have three adult children together; Adrian, Lulu and Gabriel.
