Tom Selleck: Indiana Jones – Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)

Tom Selleck was originally cast as Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark but had to drop out due to his commitment to hit TV series Magnum, P.I., which ran from 1980 to 1988.

He later joked to Oprah Winfrey: “I could’ve done Indiana Jones, but I had to do Magnum. That’s fine, I got to buy a lot of Hawaiian shirts.”
