Emma Watson: La La Land (2016)

Emma Watson was first attached to star in La La Land, but bowed out due to scheduling conflicts with Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast.

She told Vanity Fair: “With a movie like Beauty and the Beast it’s like three months prep, then three or four months shooting, then promotion… and it just wasn’t possible."

Director Damien Chazelle later confirmed she’d been the original choice for La La Land, but it was Emma Stone who stepped in and danced her way to an Oscar, whilst La La Land was a $470 million global hit.

But Watson didn’t do too badly either as Beauty and the Beast went on to gross over $1.2 billion worldwide.
