Origins
Fantastic Four’s journey to screen was anything but smooth.
Back in 1995, Home Alone director Chris Columbus was hired to launch the franchise with Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan in the lead roles.
Over the next decade, multiple directors and writers came and went - including Raja Gosnell and Peyton Reed - before Taxi’s Tim Story finally signed on in 2004.
Reed later said: “Fox had a very different movie in mind and they were also chasing a release date… so we ended up parting company.”
