Kirk Alyn

Kirk Alyn was the very first live-action Man of Steel, and took flight in the 1948 and 1950 Columbia movie serials Superman and Atom Man vs. Superman.

The studio kept him uncredited to preserve the illusion that Superman was real.

Alyn reflected: “They said no one would believe Superman was an actor.”
