Leaving The Beatles
By 1969, after seven years of global success, tensions within The Beatles had reached a breaking point.
Disagreements - particularly over the appointment of a new financial adviser - created further strain among the members.
On September 20, 1969, John Lennon told the others in private that he was leaving the band, though it was unclear whether his departure would be permanent.
Then, on April 10, 1970, Sir Paul McCartney publicly announced he was no longer working with The Beatles, triggering a major media response and deepening the rift between him and his bandmates.
Legal disputes followed, and the band’s breakup wasn’t officially finalised until December 29, 1974.
