Honorary dame

In 2014, Angelina Jolie was appointed an honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George by Queen Elizabeth II.

This recognition honoured her exceptional contributions to UK foreign policy and her tireless efforts to combat sexual violence in conflict zones.

As an American citizen, Jolie cannot be addressed as 'Dame', but she is entitled to use the post-nominal letters 'DCMG' to denote the honour.
