‘Mission: Impossible - Fallout’ sees Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) battle CIA double agent August Walker (Henry Cavill) to prevent a nuclear disaster, though the story saw some alterations along the way.

The movie was initially set to build toward a confrontation between the White Widow (Vanessa Kirby) and Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson), with Ethan gradually descending deeper into his undercover role as John Lark.

However, that direction shifted after Cruise and Kirby filmed their first scene together - that being Ethan and the White Widow by the river in Paris.
