Scouting troubles

When writing the final battle in ‘Mission: Impossible - Fallout’, Christopher McQuarrie envisioned the climactic brawl between Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and Henry Cavill’s August Walker to take place on the edge of a cliff.

Unable to find a suitable location in New Zealand, the crew expanded their search and eventually discovered the right cliff in Norway.

However, filming there came with serious challenges. The high wind speeds made the location extremely dangerous.

During a scouting trip, the crew had to crawl along the ground to prevent themselves from being blown over the edge.
