Before Keanu Reeves was cast as Neo in ‘The Matrix’, Will Smith was offered the role - though turned it down because he found the pitch from directors Lana and Lilly Wachoski too confusing.

Instead, the 56-year-old actor signed on to ‘Wild Wild West’, though would later regret the decision of making the 1999 western instead of ‘The Matrix’.

He shared: “The Wachowskis, they came in and it was like, they had only done one movie … They came in, and they made a pitch for ‘The Matrix’.

“As it turns out, they're geniuses, but there's a fine line in a pitch meeting between genius and what I experienced in the meeting... ‘So, I made ‘Wild Wild West’. I’m not proud of it.”
