The ‘Rocket Man’ singer and his husband, David Furnish, welcomed two sons via surrogacy.

The couple used the same surrogate for both children, Zachary and Elijah.

Recalling how the couple reacted in the delivery room at the time of birth, Elton said: "We tried to create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We were as excited at the prospect of Elijah's birth as we were at the prospect of Zachary's - but much less nervous."

When talking about the surrogate, Elton told PEOPLE: "She is a wonderful, kind and loving woman."
