Whoopi met her husband on set

Between 1986 and 1989, Whoopi was the busiest film star in the biz, having made seven movies in just three short years, including 'Jumpin' Jack Flash' (1986), where she met cinematographer David Claessen, whom she married later that year.

They divorced two years later as it brought an end to her second marriage.

The actress first tied the knot to Alvin Martin when she was 18 in 1973.

She would later marry for a third time to actor Lyle Tratchenberg but the union was again short-lived, lasting barely a year.

In 2011, she revealed she has no plans to remarry, stating: "You have to really be committed to them...I don't have that commitment. I'm committed to my family."
