Cutting Keanu's hair

After 'Bill and Ted', 20th Century Studios were keen to keep Keanu Reeves' signature long hair, but Jan de Bont had other plans.

Without telling the studio, the director told the actor to cut off his locks.

He later explained: "I didn't want people to think of 'Bill and Ted' any more. I want them to think of Keanu as an adult actor now."

When the company saw Keanu's lack of hair for the first time, they were shocked, but eventually agreed to let him keep the shorter look.
