She won her first ever Golden Globe award for 'The Queen's Gambit'
Her portrayal as addict and chess prodigy in Netflix hit 'The Queen's Gambit' - which was based on the best-selling book series by Walter Tevis - earned her a double Golden Globe nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress after previously winning a Screen Actors Guild award for her work’.
Upon winning, she said: "I would do this project again and again and again. I learned so much and I'm so grateful. Thank you to the audiences that have watched it and supported the characters. It meant the world."
