The script for the first Star Wars was rejected
In 1977, ‘Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope’ hot cinemas, kicking off one of the most successful film franchises in history and subsequently setting the record as the highest grossing film of all time. No studios in Hollywood wanted to make ‘Star Wars’. In fact, 20th Century Fox was the only studio willing to take it on and it was only because studio exec Alan Ladd Jr. was a fan of Lucas’ ‘American Graffiti'.
