Oscar victory

Considering it is now one of the best and most iconic movies of the 20th century, it’ll come as no surprise to learn that ‘Alien’ received an Oscar at the 52nd Academy Awards.

The picture was nominated for two awards, one for Best Art Direction and Best Visual Effects, though only won the latter.

‘Alien’ also went on to receive two BAFTA Awards, having been nominated for five.
