David Lynch’s Dune lesson
‘Dune’ is David Lynch’s only big-budget movie, and there’s a reason why that’s the case.
The director found that studio interference hampered his vision and ability to make the movie he wanted to.
Afterwards, he vowed to never make another picture similar to ‘Dune’.
He said: “When you don’t have final cut, total creative freedom, you stand to die the death, die the death. And died I did.”
Since then, David has only made small and experimental movies, which have become their own genre: Lynchian.
