Nick Cassavetes’ 2004 film has an IMDb score of 7.8 and no wonder! Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams played Noah and Allie, a couple who fall in love during the 1940s and remain together in a nursing home in their old age.

The film inspired a real love story as well as a fictional one as Gosling and McAdams dated between 2005 and 2007.

Ryan once told GQ: "God bless ‘The Notebook.’ It introduced me to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that."
