Cigar secrets

Rear Admiral Albert 'Al' Calavicci can often be seen with a cigar in-hand, but there’s more to the story than it being a simple character trait.

When Dean Stockwell agreed to play Al, the actor suggested that the Rear Admiral should always be seen smoking a cigar whilst communicating with Sam Beckett.

The actor later revealed that he had only made the suggestion as a way for him to get free cigars - which of course he got - for five years!
