Lightsaber color changed
When Luke Skywalker freed himself from his shackles on Jabba the Hutt’s Sail Barge and unsheathed his lightsaber to reveal it was green, fans went wild.
Initially, George Lucas had planned for lightsabers to either be blue - a colour used by both Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke previously - or red, as seen used by Darth Vader.
However, because of the clear blue skies in Tunisia where filming took place for the Tatooine brawl scene, it was found that Luke’s blue lightsaber didn’t show up at all, and so Lucas changed the shade to green.
This pathed the way for a multitude of different colours to make their way into the franchise, including yellow, orange and purple, which was famously wielded by Samuel L. Jackson’s Jedi Master, Mace Windu in the prequel trilogy.
