Brolin confused Spielberg
As a new actor, Josh Brolin was keen to experiment, but Steven Spielberg wasn’t so enthusiastic.
After learning of the Stanislavski acting method, in which the performer will try to build a character’s behaviour through specific actions, Josh began to explain what he was going to do, and the details of which confused the producer.
Recalling the situation, the 55-year-old actor said: “I came up to Spielberg, and said that I wanted to climb the walls of the tunnels and that it represented my mother's womb, for some odd reason... Spielberg's response was, ‘Why don't you just act.'”
