The 37-year-old star almost gave up acting after he compared auditioning for his breakout role as vampire Edward Cullen in 'Twilight' to “torture”.

But since the success of that series his career has gone from strength-to- strength with him currently being the man behind the wheel of the Batmobile.

He said in 2019: “The audition was one of the worst auditions I did in my whole life. I remember calling my parents and saying, ‘I’m done, I can’t torture myself anymore.’”
