Chris Hemsworth

The 40-year-old Australian actor spent years taking on roles that weren't the best fit for him until he was cast as superhero Thor in the MCU in 2009.

Chris admits that he took on those parts - including Kim Hyde in soap 'Home and Away' - because his family had no money and he wanted to help his parents.

He told Variety: "A big reason I started acting was because I loved film and TV, but it was like we had no money. I wanted to pay off their house, initially. That was my sort of thing.”

Chris is now worth a reputed $130 million.
