Michael portrayed Christopher Moltisanti, a senior member of Tony's crew, and the boss' protege.

Christopher suffered from addiction issues that caused problems for the crew.

Michael's performance earned him the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2004.

His career continued to blossom once his time on the show came to an end, appearing in ‘Life on Mars’, ben Stiller’s ‘Escape at Dannemora’ and ‘The White Lotus’.

Reflecting on his time on the drama with The Guardian newspaper, the 57-year-old actor said: "The most brutal, difficult stuff for me is when Christopher had to be physically abusive with Adriana, for obvious reasons.

“On a technical level, you’re trying to be really careful so you don’t hurt the person. But having to get to that point ... you have to go to some nasty places to get there.”
