His portrayal of the sociopathic gangster who is in therapy earned him widespread acclaim and several awards, including three Emmys and a Golden Globe.
After the show ended in 2007, the actor worked as an executive producer on several HBO movies and films, including ‘Killing Them Softly’ and ‘Hemingway and Gelhorn’.
James unexpectedly died from a heart attack at the age of 51 during a vacation in Rome in 2013.
