He moved to London as kid from Ireland
When the ‘Gosford Park’ star was six years old, he and his family, which included his mother Mary and father Edward, left the Dublin suburb of Cabara for a new life in Camden, London.
After attending St Aloysius in Highgate, they moved to North End in Kent, where he was enrolled at Crayford Secondary School.
In 2010, Michael told the Irish Times: “I have no memory if it. I was only a kid when I was taken to England, so I remember very little. I remember coming back on holidays with my parents, going to the seaside and all that, but I don’t remember anything else. It’s all a blur.
"I became a London boy."
