RIP Amy

On 23 July 2011, Amy’s turbulent life came to a tragic end.

The singer was found dead at her home in Camden, north London at the age of just 27.

After abstaining from alcohol Amy admitted to her GP she was drinking again the night before and even said “I don’t want to die”.

During the inquest a deputy coroner had concluded that it was in fact “accidental alcohol poisoning” that

Suzanne Greenaway said: “She had consumed sufficient alcohol and the unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels was her sudden and unexpected death."

Her final appearance on stage came on July 20, 2011 – three days before her passing - when she joined her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield at Camden's Roundhouse for a duet on ‘Mama Said'.
