Betty White (1922-2021)

The late actress - who will forever be remember for playing Rose on sitcom ‘The Golden Girls’ - joined the US Army as a volunteer during WWII.

Following her passing on December 31, 2021, aged 99, the US Army recognized her work via a heartfelt statement posted to Twitter.

It read: "Not only was she an amazing actress, she also served during WWII as a member of the American Women's Voluntary Services. A true legend on and off the screen.”
