Bea Arthur (1922-2009)

The ‘Golden Girls’ actress - who passed away in 2009 aged 86 - was part of the Marine Corps’ Women’s Reserve when she was 21 years old.

Among other tasks, Arthur served as a military truck driver, as well as a typist.

She stopped being a reserve in 1945.
