M. Night Shyamalan
M. Night Shyamalan’s film 'The Sixth Sense' earned him two Academy award nominations: one for Best Director and another for Best Original Screenplay and put him on the map as a master of suspense in Hollywood.
However, his 2006 film ‘Lady in the Water’ won two Golden Raspberry awards: one for Worst Director, and another one for Worst Supporting Actor for his own performance.
In 2023, Shyamalan, 52, spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his flop, which he doesn’t actually consider a failure.
He said: "'Lady in the Water’ and ‘The Happening’ are so much a part of me. I love being wicked and getting a rise out of you, [but] being goofy is a part of who I am, as is being earnest.
"So, ‘Lady in the Water’ was very close to who I am as a person.”
