Fresh rumours surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI have claimed pre-orders for the hugely anticipated game could begin on Monday (18.05.26), though developer Rockstar Games has yet to confirm any official details.

Reports emerged after several people on social media claimed retailer Best Buy had sent affiliate emails referencing the supposed pre-order date. Journalists later said they had independently verified the existence of the message.

However, Rockstar has not publicly announced when pre-orders for GTA 6 will begin, meaning the information remains speculative.

The latest rumours also suggest the game could launch with several different editions and console bundles.

X user Detective Seeds, who claims to have insider sources connected to the game’s marketing plans, alleged there will be "six ways of purchasing the game at pre-order".

The account posted: "I was given the GTA 6 pricing, bundles and various structures of ordering the game by the same person who gave me the week of pre-orders starting."

According to the claims, Rockstar is allegedly planning three standard digital and physical editions, alongside a rarer collector-style version and two console bundles tied to PlayStation hardware.

Detective Seeds also claimed the console packages would include digital download codes rather than physical discs.

While exact pricing details were not shared, the insider suggested the game would likely fall within the expected $60 to $80 range, though some premium editions could cost more and potentially include early access.

Separate research from player engagement platform FirstLook found gamers in the UK and US expect GTA 6 to cost around £76 or $78 on average.

The survey of 2,000 players also found 59 per cent would consider a £100 or $100 price tag too expensive, although 40 per cent believed it would still be fair for a title of GTA 6’s scale.

FirstLook chief executive Eden Chen said: "However the survey also reveals a sharp sensitivity at the $100, which has to be some psychological barrier for consumers."

Rockstar officially revealed GTA VI in December 2023, with the game currently scheduled for release in November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
