Sir Paul McCartney joked to Taylor Swift she should perform I Want to Hold Your Hand at her and Travis Kelce's wedding
Sir Paul McCartney performed The Beatles' 1964 classic I Want to Hold Your Hand at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3 at the pop megastar's request.
Sir Paul McCartney initially joked to Taylor Swift that should perform I Want to Hold Your Hand at her and Travis Kelce's wedding.
The Beatles legend sang the band's 1964 classic for the pop megastar and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, both 36, at their nuptials at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3 at Taylor's request, but Paul, 84, wanted her to join him on stage for a duet.
Appearing on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Friday (02.10.26), he shared: "I said, you should sing along, and you should sing it to your man."
It is not clear if Taylor joined Paul on stage for a duet of I Want to Hold Your Hand.
In May, he admitted he sees "parallels" between The Beatles and the 14-time Grammy winner because she has achieved a level of fame comparable to the hysteria which surrounded the Fab Four - Paul, Sir Ringo Starr, 86, the late John Lennon and the late George Harrison - in the mid-1960s.
Appearing on BBC's Tracks of My Years, Paul was asked if he would give any advice to the Opalite hitmaker and replied: "You do see the parallel, you know the fame and the amount of fame and the worldwide fame that Taylor Swift has and that we had, but I don't think she needs any advice to tell you the truth ... If she asked for it, I definitely would. I'm like the older brother to that generation, or more like the granddad, actually."
