Meghan, Duchess of Sussex thinks she is able to do "powerful things" thanks to her global platform.
The former actress, 43, married Prince Harry in 2018 but the pair relinquished their royal duties in favour of a life in LA two years later and now that she has invested in the Cesta Collective handbag collection, has opened up on how being in the "global spotlight" enables her to shine a light on smaller brands.
She told the New York Times: "I spend a lot of time just Googling, looking for brands. When people are online looking for things or reading things, I’m trying to find great new designers, especially in different territories.
"Times where I know there is a global spotlight, and attention will be given to each detail of what I may or may not be wearing, then I support designers that I have really great friendships with, and smaller, up-and-coming brands that haven’t gotten the attention that they should be getting. That’s one of the most powerful things that I’m able to do, and that’s simply wearing, like, an earring."
The former 'Suits' star - who has Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, with the Duke of Sussex - launched her own lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard earlier this year and was said to be "very pleased" with how things had been going since the launch.
A source told Us Weekly: “The rollout for American Riviera Orchard is already off to a strong start. The website has over 100,000 who have signed up to hear about the first products launched.
"Meghan is very pleased with the early interest it has gained.”
The insider added: “[She] is so excited to see how people enjoy her products and use them in their everyday lives."
