Sinitta battled 'quite a few sleepless nights' after signing up for I'm A Celebrity...South Africa
Sinitta is taking part in the second series of I'm A Celebrity...South Africa in April.
Sinitta battled "quite a few sleepless nights" after agreeing to do I'm A Celebrity...South Africa.
The 1980s singer is one of 12 memorable campmates who will face gruesome challenges and live in harsh conditions again, years after their original stint on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! for the ITV spin-off show in April.
In a video shared to Instagram on Tuesday (10.03.26), Sinitta was asked about her preparations for the show, to which she replied: "To admit, I've had quite a few sleepless nights, anxiety because I'm scared of insects and bugs, and sleeping outside, and rats and snakes, and lions and tigers, and bears, oh my!"
But the So Macho hitmaker signed up for the show to test her “strength and resilience”.
She continued: "But I really want to do it for some crazy reason. I feel like it's testing my faith, I feel like it's testing my strength and resilience as a woman.
"I think it's important to face your fears so long as you're not in real danger. But I won't be doing anything crazy to tempt the devil.
"I won't be bungee jumping, jumping out of planes, wrestling with tigers, wrestling, you know, alligators, crocodiles, nothing where I could actually die.
"But, I'm really, really, really gonna try to face my fears."
At the start of the video, Sinitta, 62, revealed a key item she will be taking to Kruger National Park - where I'm A Celebrity...South Africa is filmed.
The Toy Boy performer said: "It's my sun visor because, as a woman of a certain age, I believe that it is important to protect your skin from the sun at all times, and I've been doing this since the 90s."
Sinitta took part in the Australia-based I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2011, and she is hoping to get "courage and deeper faith" this time around.
She explained: "I have what you call phobias, and phobias are irrational fears. But if I believe in God, which I do, and I love God, and I know God loves me and will protect me and that I'm safe, why am I still afraid of these things?
"And I've just got to do it afraid, but I'm just tired. I've been scared of these things for 50-something years. It's too long to be living in fear, walking into rooms looking in corners, 'Is there a spider? What's this?'
"Like, literally, that's been my life, and it's enough now."
Like Sinitta, The Pussycat Dolls member Ashley Roberts, 44, also agreed to do I'm A Celebrity...South Africa to prove to herself that she is strong - despite having refused to do the show two years beforehand.
On Tuesday's (10.03.26) edition of the Heart Radio Breakfast Show, singer Ashley - who did I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2012 - told 55-year-old hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden: "When the boys [hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly] first came in and told us they were doing this legends show, I think it was like two years ago or something like that, they were like, 'Would you do it?'
"And I was like, 'No! Never!' I’ve always said I’d never do it.
"There also comes a time when you want to challenge yourself a little bit, and I was like, 'I’m going to prove myself I can do some wild things.' I said yes."
As well as Ashley and Sinitta, they will be joined by Waterloo Road alum Adam Thomas, 37, comedian Seann Walsh, 40, and 35-year-old former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt.
Four-time Olympic gold medallist long-distance runner Sir Mo Farah, 42, former professional boxer David Haye, 45, reality TV icon Gemma Collins, 45, and ex-Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp, 79, have also signed up.
And Coronation Street alum Beverley Callard, 68, Red Dwarf alum Craig Charles, 61, and ex-Wigan Athletic midfielder Jimmy Bullard, 47, complete the line-up.
I'm A Celebrity..South Africa launches on April 6, and ends with a live final from London, where viewers will pick their I’m A Celebrity…Legend, on April 24.
The show will air on ITV1, STV and ITVX.
