Chappell Roan: The movie industry is a scary place
Chappell Roan doesn't have any regrets about turning her back on the movie business.
Chappell Roan thinks the movie industry is "scary".
The 26-year-old singer used to harbour ambitions of becoming a movie star, but Chappell has now suggested that she's actually had a lucky escape.
The 'Good Luck, Babe!' hitmaker told Interview magazine: "I originally started doing music because I wanted to get my foot in the door for acting, and then I moved to Los Angeles, and I was like, 'F*** that.' The industry is legitimately so scary, and it is so out of my control."
Chappell feels musicians have much more freedom than actors.
She said: "I can put out music whenever I want. I don’t have to wait for a casting director to be like, 'It would be great if we cast you, and then we’ll decide your schedule for the next three months.'"
Despite this, Chappell remains open to the idea of making the occasional cameo appearance.
The singer shared: "I think it would have to be really specific and really silly. I would maybe do a cameo."
Meanwhile, Adele recently admitted that she's a big fan of Chappell, describing her music as "absolutely amazing".
The Grammy-winning star revealed during a concert in Munich, Germany, that she has been wowed by Chappell's talent.
Adele said: "Chappell Roan is her name, yes?
"I heard a song a little while ago at my birthday, and I loved it, and it was one of my best friend's playlists. And then, I went down a rabbit hole on Monday ... all day long."
Adele, 36, added that Chappell's music is "spectacular".
The London-born star shared: "It turns out, she's not just got one song. She's got, like, seven f****** brilliant songs. I think she's absolutely amazing. I'm very excited for her."
