Frankie Muniz missed two episodes of 'Malcolm in the Middle' after standing up to "rude and disrespectful" people on set.
The 38-year-old actor shot to fame as a teenager when he was cast in the leading role of the hit sitcom and is currently competing on the Australian version of 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!', where he revealed to his fellow campmate Candice Warner that he is absent from two of the 151 episodes because at the time he stormed off set and refused to come back.
Speaking on Monday's (01.04.24) episode of the Network 10 reality show, he explained: "Here’s a story no one knows, ready? There’s two episodes I’m not in, ‘cause I walked off the set.
"Everyone was so afraid to stand up when certain people were controlling or rude or disrespectful like they walked on pins and needles. "
The 'Agent Cody Banks' star - who appeared in 'Malcolm in the Middle' alongside Jane Kaczmarek, Bryan Cranston, and Christopher Masterson - recalled being "mortified" at seeing some of his co-stars being "afraid" to stand their ground on set but "didn't care" if producers decided to fire him for doing so.
He said: "I remember being so mortified by watching people afraid to stand up for themselves, kind of like, ‘Say something!’ I didn’t care if they told me I was never going back, because it was worth it to me, you know what I mean?"
In response, retired professional ironwoman Candice, 39, suggested that Frankie had the "power" to call the shots during production of the show.
She said: "The show is based around you so they needed you, so you had that power!"
He replied: "That helped, that helped."
